Synopse:

(Narrator) The Knight’s Templar defended the Holy Land. Their tools were bloodshed and prayer. Founded in the 12th century, these Christian warrior monks were an unbeatable force for nearly 200 years, then they suffered a spectacular fall from grace. Tried for heresy, they were accused of practicing strange rituals, accusers said they spat on the cross, worshiped a severed head and engaged in perverse sexual acts. They were disbanded, their grandmaster was burned at the stake. Ever since their name has carried an air of mystery and romance. Today books like The DaVinci Code embellish the myth of the Templars, claims persist that they guarded the most sacred object in Christendom, the Holy Grail. Behind the legend, we explore the real world of the Knight’s Templar, a world built from stone, 800 years ago they constructed some of the finest fortifications ever known. Today much of what they built is crumbling into the landscape. Now a team of experts is journeying back to their world. Using state of the art computer animation they will reveal for the first time in 8 centuries the lost world of the Knight’s Templar.

Cristãos, na terra das especiarias

Sinopse: Passados quinhentos anos da chegada de Vasco da Gama, em Goa ainda são visíveis os traços desse passado feito cristão.
No dia 17 de Maio de 1498, Vasco da Gama chegou à Índia.
Quando perguntaram aos navegadores o que procuravam naquelas paragens, a resposta , de acordo com os cronistas, terá sido:"Cristãos e especiarias".Mais do que uma resposta, este foi o enunciado de toda uma política para os séculos seguintes.
O Lugar da história esteve em Goa passados quinhentos anos da chegada de Vasco da Gama . Ainda são visíveis os traços desse passado feito cristão, patente nas magníficas igrejas da Velha Goa e nos trabalhos de escultura, carpintaria e ourivesaria feitos ao longo destes quinhentos anos.
Estivémos também numa terra chamada Salcete, onde existe um seminário que foi fundado pelos jesuitas e que ainda hoje forma os padres goeses. E, junto ao seminário de Rachol, encontrámos uma jóia, um museu de arte cristã. Instalado há quatro anos com apoio científico e financeiro da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, o Museu de Rachol é um repositório dessa arte criada por portugueses e indianos e vale bem uma visita.
E, se Vasco da Gama chegasse hoje à Índia, não teria problemas em encontrar cristãos. Eles são mais de trinta por cento da população de Goa que continua a ser uma terra de especiarias.

Exigiu-se, como condição prévia às entidades que encomendaram o projecto, total autonomia pelo que o disco interactivo apresenta o espólio global das descobertas feitas até à data, sem jamais se imiscuir na polémica pró ou contra a construção da barragem.
